Hello and welcome to The Nitro Shop the home of world class TNS modified Nitro Racing Engines , owned and operated by me Neal Smith, former co-owner of Clockwork Racing Engines. Nitro engines have been my passion since I was a young child with my first engine being a Cox 0.49 that was attached to a hand me down Wizard Junior control line aircraft, this was back in 1982 when I was just 10 years old, little did I know back then that this innocent little 0.49 engine would lead to a lifelong obsession. I have come a long way since those days, I have modified thousands of engines and have had thousands of wonderful customers in all different walks of Nitro competition. I have a fully equipped custom built modern workshop, a state of the art Nitro Engine dyno system and a decades worth of head to head competition engine building experience.

My goal is to build the absolute best running modified Nitro engines on the planet, to do this I utilize a combination of both dyno and in car testing to develop my engines, with a heavy focus on easy tuning while maintaining maximum power output .  I believe that my state of the art dyno system and precise testing procedures gives me a huge edge over my competitors, not only in engine development but as well in testing different pipe and manifold combinations to recommend.

Due to the fact that I am a one man show and have a fulltime job outside o RC please expect a 2-6 week turnaround on your modified engines, longer waits if you need breakins , shorter if you do not.. I do not take rush orders and its always first come first serve with no favoritism to anyone, team members included with absolutely no exceptions .  Properly modifying these engines is very time consuming and often times I have little control over my timetable, each job simply takes as long as it takes and I wont start the next job until the first job is completed properly, so if your after a rush job I am not the shop for you as I will not sacrifice my quality to meet a unrealistic deadline.  Each engine is a precise individual work of art and is something that simply cannot be rushed.
